Horn Aid is a national Non-Governmental Organisation established in 2005, registered with the Ministry of Interior, Federal Affairs & Reconciliation to undertake Humanitarian, Development and Human Rights interventions in Somalia.
Horn Aid aims at mitigating the adverse impacts of armed conflicts, recurrent natural hazards and high poverty levels in the country. Horn Aid has since responded and supported several affected communities in Hiran, Benadir, Middle Jubba, lower Jubba and Lower Shabelle regions. Focusing on; Education, Sustainable Livelihoods, Primary Health Care, WASH, Shelter, Peacebuilding and Human Rights, Gender Equity and Women Empowerment. And Agriculture,
Horn Aid exists to respond to the various humanitarian emergencies, promote sustainable socio-economic development and the holistic empowerment of communities in Somalia through participatory and integrated approaches, closely collaborating with the respective government departments at State and Federal levels and other key stakeholders.
Horn Aid is run and managed by an independent Board and a technical staff management structure responsible for the operations.
